One form, one desk, two working days for routine matters.
Every message reaches Salma Refaat at the Sohag office. Salma triages by topic: subscription queries directly, fee-correction submissions to Aisha Mansy for verification, accessibility-audit questions to Nadine Habashy, Upper Egypt museum questions to Mohamed Abdel-Aziz, Cairo museum questions to Heba el-Kafrawi, press enquiries to Heba personally. Office hours Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 to 14:00 Cairo time.
Send a message.
Mark the topic accurately — it determines who reads the message. Routine subscription queries are usually resolved in one round; fee corrections involve verification with the museum and take five to ten working days; accessibility-audit feedback involves Nadine and the EDRA partnership and can take two weeks.
By post — the printed annual digest.
Institutional subscribers may add the printed annual digest at €26 plus postage. Three hundred pages consolidating the year's bulletins, four quarterly tables, the annual audit, Ramadan calendar, fee-changes log, corrections log and methodology document. Postage €5 within Egypt, €11 to Europe and North Africa, €18 elsewhere.
If you reached us by mistake.
If you were looking for a museum ticket reseller, a tour operator selling combined-ticket passes, an antiquities dealer or a museum membership programme, you are at the wrong door. The Index is an independent documentary publication. We do not sell tickets, do not arrange tours, do not handle museum memberships and do not trade in antiquities. The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities maintains a published list of licensed tour operators on its official portal.
Confidentiality of correction submissions.
Where a reader submits a correction that turns on the museum's ticket-window behaviour (a different rate charged than what we have published, a documentation requirement applied differently than our records show), the reader's identity is held confidential by the cooperative during the verification process. The Index does not share the reader's name with the museum's visitor-services office when seeking confirmation; we describe the observation in terms that do not identify the reader. The reader's identity appears in the corrections log only with the reader's explicit consent; the default is anonymity with the date of the visit recorded.
Response-time commitments by topic.
Routine subscription queries: one working day. Site-specific questions: two to three working days. Fee corrections: five to ten working days because we verify with the museum. Accessibility-audit feedback: ten to fourteen working days because Nadine consults the EDRA partnership. Certificate requests: five working days. Consultation bookings: written quote within five working days, separate scheduling. Press enquiries with named deadlines: prioritised by Heba, typically two working days.
